Praise and Prayer

Dear Prayer Partners, family and friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers.   The LORD has healed my knee and there wasn't any surgery. 

I was watching the ISN with Sid Roth and there was a couple on the program who had received several  miracles.  When I turned on the TV, the husband was telling about what the doctor had told him, that his wife was going to die by the next day.  The husband asked the LORD what was HE saying and  gave him the scripture Hebrews 10:35 "do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward".   As soon as I heard that, the LORD had my attention, by the end of the program my knee was healed!  I almost couldn't believe it, I tried everything that would make it hurt, including crawling around on the floor on my knees.  I know that sounds crazy and probably looked that way too, but I had to know.  Before, if my knee even touched something slightly, the pain was excruciating and didn't stop for a while a long while after and now no pain what so ever!   Thank you, again,  so very much for your prayers, I so very much appreciated you and am grateful for your love and care.

I am praying all of you are well and like me are learning to "shelter in place"  Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret "place" of the Most High'  Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  We are in the right PLACE!!

Had a thought the other day, actually, it was a question the HOLY SPIRIT asked me. " When was the last time you asked your children, What has the LORD been saying to you?"  Honestly, I had not thought about it, I might have, if they were asking me about a situation, but not just out of the blue.  It has caused me to really think about a lot of things, one of them, being, whose voice or voices are they listening to and how would they know the difference.  I want my children, my grandchildren, my great grandchildren, even my friends to recognize GOD's voice, and I realize they have to be taught to listen for HIS voice and to recognize HIS voice and understand the difference between the voice of GOD and voice of Satan.  In this world there are many voices, even computer voices-- how will they know which one to listen to.

I believe we need to be teaching our children now, while they are young, to know HIS voice, it is the most important voice they will ever hear.  I am sure we all have instances, when that Voice was speaking and it kept us from making a foolish decision or when we didn't listen or just wasn't sure it was HIS voice and chose to ignore it.  Samuel was taught to listen and respond  (1 Samuel 3:1-10).  We do not know how the LORD will or when HE will begin to speak to them, but we do have a responsibility to "train" them in the way they should go: reading the Bible, prayer, honesty, truthfulness, honoring their parents and etc. 

I am praying that there will be Holy Spirit filled, men and women, who will arise, who are like the sons of Issachar who have an understanding of the times, to know what the church ought to do.  Not just for the church, but for what is happening in the world today and tomorrow.

Dear Prayer Partners, Friends and Family, 

Thank you for your prayers, words of encouragement, and for your love.

Happy New Year!!!  2020, a year of clarity in our vision, not just our vision but our hearts strengthened and our ears sensitive to what the LORD has for us and others in this New year.

We have everything we need to succeed in what the LORD has prepared for us. It is that first step that sometimes delays us.  One thing I am sure of, we must take it.  We must be confident in what the LORD has prepared for us and others through us. 

If you are having a struggle with your future (that is what is in that first step) start telling others your testimony of what the LORD has done for you in your past, and as you tell your testimony, you will hear it for yourself not only building their confidence in what the LORD will do for them but for yourself, too!! We need to remind ourselves of HIS love for us, Who HE is and where HE has brought us and that we are still on the journey!!  When JESUS said to the disciples "Follow ME" HE was going somewhere, they didn't know where, but they left everything and followed HIM.  Even if we don't know where, we know WHO we are following.  Trust in HIS love for you.

I am in Georgia, living in my mom's house.  It is on a property that is like a retreat an older one but still a retreat.  The property around it, 19 acres, is full of trees and wildlife squirrels, chipmunks, birds (hawks, owls, cardinals etc) deer (there is an 8-point buck that comes to the house along with a doe) a creek just below the house and snakes.  I am thankful for winter, don't have to think about walking outside and running into one!! Or two!!  A great place to "retreat".

I am supposed to have Knee surgery for a torn meniscus, overworked my knee, not sure how you overwork your knee, didn't even know you could!!  I am thanking the LORD my knee is HEALED!

My eyes to see, my ears to hear and my heart to obey what the LORD says to me.

Praying for all of you, that the LORD would supply all of you needs and give you the desires of your heart.   

There is nothing impossible for OUR GOD!

Dear Prayer Partners, Friends and Family,

 

Thank you for your prayers, letters, love, and support. 

I pray you have had a Blessed and Merry Christmas and are contemplating the past year and what will unfold in this coming New Year, 2018.

I am not much on New Year's resolutions, seems like I start off really well and begin to slow down or get disinterested by the time January is over.

Instead of making resolutions, I believe making things constants in my life works well; things I really want like more prayer, HIS presence and reading my Bible, getting and keeping my heart right, probably the hardest thing being open to the changes the LORD does in my heart and my life.

  It is so hard to see the future when your past seems (which you thought was your future) seems to have changed so dramatically.  One thing never changes, I trust the ONE who had/has my past and holds my future.  Even though from where I sit right now it looks like a big blank page (well almost blank, I do have a few appointments in this coming year), in just one moment in time, HE can change everything.  HE has a plan for my life and yours.  So if things aren't going your way, or you are not sure of your direction (maybe you have a blank page, too) I am sure of ONE thing HE Knows, HE cares, and HE has it all ready for us and His timing is perfect for me and for you.  Having an ear to hear and a heart to obey, and we will accomplish all HE has for us in this next season of our lives.

For those who have it and know your path and where you are going, Praise the LORD!! You are an inspiration and give the rest of us hope, knowing if GOD has shown you, HE will also show us, not that I have doubted it but there are times when it seems so far away.   

Right now I am in Georgia visiting family, my son Robert, my daughter Amanda, my sister Janis and my brother Ray and their families. We have had some unexpected things happening, one was a week or so ago when Georgia received 4 to 10 inches of snow in the areas that my family live.  Was pretty amazing and beautiful, to see snow period in December no less that much snow.

Please continue to pray for me and the family.  There are some health challenges and personal challenges that need the LORD's intervention.  Pray that we hear clearly what the LORD would have us do in each situation.

For this coming year, 2018:

"May the LORD Bless you and Keep you;

The LORD make HIS face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you.

The LORD lift up HIS countenance upon you,

And give you peace."   Numbers 6:24-26

That peace of knowing HE knows right where you are and just what you have need of and HE is so very able to provide for you and to get you to the place HE has for you today and in the future.

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your love, prayers, support and for the notes of encouragement.  It has reminded me that there is more and to continue to seek the LORD for the answers and direction for my life; the LORD knows right where I am and has a plan for the future. I have been in the US and Canada since the end of April, visiting family and friends. Spent time in Washington state with Aaron and Carla and their children and in Calgary with Jonathan and Juanita and their children, even played in the snow at Banff with Jonathan and the family.  Pretty unusual for a Georgia girl to play/walk in the snow in May but it was fun and beautiful.  Also went to Idaho and saw John's mom,  Christena Jacks and his brother David and David's wife Emma,  also saw his cousin Chris and his family. It was and is good to see family and have a few minutes with them.  Hope to visit all of them again soon, it is amazing how the LORD can make family out of complete strangers and bring HIS Love in and through all to each other.  Right now I am in Georgia,  with my daughter Amanda and her husband Chuck and family.  I have been going driving back and forth from her home to my son Robert and his wife Emily and family.  It has been really great to catch up with everyone and to be with Chloe, Amanda's daughter, while she had ACL surgery and began the healing process and physical therapy.  Please be praying for her recovery and her knee to be healed completely.   Really is a new chapter in my life that hasn't been written yet.  The LORD has  shown me that HE has a plan for my life and not to be in a hurry.  Doing what is at hand and just enjoying where I am at and the direction HE is taking me.  I am so grateful to have you for encouragement, your love and your prayers  and you mean so much to me. Please be praying for me to hear the LORD clearly for the next step in my life. for all the things that need to get done on my list to be completed and behind me. Continued Urgent Prayer

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your prayers, we are still standing in faith that the LORD has and will deliver John of all the attacks of the enemy!!

Friday afternoon he has a horrible attack of pain and as he cannot tell you where the pain is,  all we knew was that it was more than he could handle.

The pain he was and is having is from a 6mm kidney stone, that on Friday night was found to be  traveling down from the kidney.  They are doing another

test today, Monday, to see where it is.  In the meantime all that the doctors can offer is pain relief, and it is taking huge amounts of continued pain meds (mostly

morphine ) just to keep John somewhat comfortable, I am pretty sure if he could tell us, he would say they are not doing a really good job, we do realize the

doctors are trying, but as his face says, even with all the pain meds he is still having moments of intense pain.

Thank you for your continued prayer for John and me.  Having someone you love and is part of you, hurts you almost as much as it hurts them.

Not so sure John would agree, but it is painful, nevertheless.

Should tell you this, when the aged care facility didn't have the answers for the reason why John was in pain, I just said FATHER what is causing

all this pain, and I heard "a kidney stone".  Took some convincing to get the staff at the place to call an ambulance  and get him to the hospital,

 but someone finally listened to me (I am sure they thought I didn't know what I was talking about).  We were not there very long at all before the

pain resurfaced and the doctor in the emergency room did agree, he thought it was a kidney stone, too, and of course it was!!  Our GOD knows all

the answers and the questions. 

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD's and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.

We belong to HIM and no one is able to snatch us out of HIS hand.  (John 10:29 )

So very Thankful we Belong to HIM!!

Urgent Prayer

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your continued prayer and standing in the gap for John and me.

John is in an extreme amount of pain today, they have done some test to try to determine the cause.  We do know that he has a chest infection, but they do not believe this has to do with the pain.

Please continue to pray for complete healing for him and for wisdom and that the test would reveal where the pain is coming from and for the doctors to know how to treat the cause.

Dear Prayer Partners, family and friends,

 

We are praying you have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed, Joyous, and Prosperous New Year.   There is such an anticipation for this New Year!!  Looking forward to what the

Lord has in store for us and you in this New Year.  Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

The ward John is in is experiencing an outbreak of some kind of infection, with flu like symptoms along with cough and congestion.  John has been diagnosed with a chest infection and has

 been in isolation the last couple of days but that was stopped this morning for him.

The ward is still under lock down, isolation, and this morning they were not sure if it would be lifted before Christmas.  There was a new case of infection

diagnosed this morning so it seems there is an ongoing infection is the ward.  Please be praying not only for John but for the others in the ward and the nurses and aids that are caring for

 the residents. There are a few of the nurses and aids which are infected also.  It is a very trying and tiresome job even on good days without sickness in the ward.  A lot of the dementia

patients express agitation when the are unwell, so the aids and nurses are under a lot more pressure to try to keep the ward calm and peaceful.  So please be praying for healing and peace for

 the residents, nurses and aids.

We are so thankful "our GOD is able" to do far above what we can hope or dream.  So we keep believing, trusting and waiting on HIM who is faithful!

Prayer Needs

Dear Prayer Partners,

I know it has been a while since I have sent a news letter.  Please forgive me, sometimes it is very hard to say what you want,  we are battling and praying and believing and speaking healing and health over John and others.  Keeping our eyes on JESUS the Author and Finisher of our Faith!!!

Thank you so much for your faith, your prayers, your support, your love and your faithfulness.  John has been doing pretty well, although he isn't able to walk, doesn't talk much but all things being as they are we are thanking the LORD for what HE is doing and believing for John's healing, the Word says in Mark 16:18 they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.  We continue to lay hands on John and speak healing and health to his entire body, soul and spirit.

As of yesterday, the doctor at the aged care home has diagnosed John with an upper respiratory infection.  Today, I was informed that the flu virus is also been diagnosed in several of the patients and they are asking family members to limit their visits and if they have an sign of sickness not to come at all. Otherwise they are on lockdown until the outbreak is under control.

Please be praying for John and the other patients and residents in the building and the nursing and care staff, that the LORD would protect all of them from this or any other disease.

We are thankful!!! If you remember about September of last year John was given 2 weeks to live.  He is still here so the LORD is not finished with him.  He has been in this aged care home for a year on November 7TH.  What a miracle!!  For sure the LORD is not finished with him yet.

Thank you so much for your prayers, your encouraging notes, your visits, your phone calls, your love, your support, your prayers just being there and us knowing there are people who love and care for us, we are so blessed to have friends who will believe and pray with us and for us.

Dear Prayers Partners

Thank you so much for your prayers and your love and your support.

John had an MRI last week and this past Monday, May 30, we received another good report "No growth on the cancer".  The doctor was truly amazed and pleased.  John had been listening and not really looking at him, until he said there was no growth, then he looked up and paid attention.  He was very encouraged by what he said.  We rejoice that there has been no tumor growth in 9 months.

Now we wait for the fulfillment of Joel 2:25-26 over the negative effects of the treatments, the radiation and the chemo, and of course the tumors. So our prayer is complete and total healing and restoration!   Taking back what Satan has stolen including our time talent and money, he really owes us and you! 

So we are looking for that miracle that completes John's total healing. We eagerly await the day that we can proclaim the good news anew and share our testimony of  Johns complete and total restoration and how the Goodness and Majesty of our God is available to all who are in need, whatever the need is.  Don't underestimate our FATHER's love for you!!!  How wide and How deep, unmeasurable!

Thank you for your continued prayer support and encouragement. We could not do this without the Lord and your prayers upholding us.  So many of you have reached out and touched our hearts with your faith, notes, emails, phone calls, visits and gifts. The past almost three years have been filled with times of joy and tears; times of faith and testing,  God always comes through just when we need Him and He has used you over and over. Thank you and God bless you for your love and faithfulness to us and to The Lord!

Praise Report

​

Dear Prayer Partners,

When we went back to the oncologist after the MRI, the report was "no growth of the tumors detected" !!  What a good, great report!

The doctors are ordering another MRI in about 6 weeks because the MRI equipment is  new, so there is really nothing to compare

the results with, the only other thing that was mentioned was a possible bleed in the brain, but because the equipment is new they are not 

sure if it is new or something that has been there.  So the doctor decided the best idea is to repeat the MRI and blood tests.  John does not have an appointment for the MRI yet but it should be around the 21st of May.

Thank you so much for your continued prayer.  John's conversation ability seems to be improving, he is saying complete thoughts and sentences

even teasing some of the time 😌.

Prayer

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you so much for your love, prayers and support.  We so appreciate all the prayers, love, and support.  We would not be able to continue this battle without the LORD and HIS love and strength.  Knowing that you are continuing to pray and uphold us  keeps us moving forward and not giving up, thank you so very much!!

John is a miracle, so not only we say but the oncologist said that when we were there the last of January,  He actually said "John I never expected to see you again."   The reason was because around the first week in September or so, the doctors only gave John two weeks to live.  The LORD is not finished with what JOHN has to do here so please continue to pray and uphold him before the LORD.  He is having a pretty rough patch, and is a little down.  The doctors are changing his meds some, so be praying first of all for that total healing!! we are asking for and that the meds will do what they are supposed to do.

The doctors have also scheduled a MRI for the first week or so of March, please be praying for a good report and that John will be calm through all the procedures.

Also since Monday the Aged Care facility where John is, has not allowed any visitors especially the Melba wing where John is because of an outbreak of gastritis, It has not affected John, but there were 6 more cases in that wing yesterday so no one in or out till they get the all clear.  Please be praying for the patients and the doctors and nurses.  The dementia wing is a hard place, even with the patients well, can't imagine how difficult it must be with so many sick.  

Please be praying for me too, I have been fighting an ear infection and I been speaking to it and it surely needs to be healed in JESUS name.  Thank you so much.

​Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your prayers, some amazing things have happened since I last wrote a letter.

John has moved to a new facility, in fact the it is about as new as the last one was old.  He is still in a dementia ward, the care he needs is considered high level care and without being in a hospital setting there is no way that he would have it without being in this ward.  The home is 3.2km (1.9miles) from where I am living so it is so much closer and closer to the children.  It makes it so much easier to visit him.  We are praying that when he is settled in we can take him to his favorite eating place McDonald's, as most of you know, the one he likes about the best is right across the street from the home he is in, in fact you can see it from his window!!

It is very difficult to see him here because there are some things he understands even though he cannot verbalize them.  The place is pretty noisy and loud noises still bother John at times.  Please be praying that the carers have understanding about John, he really does understand at times, what is wrong with him isn't dementia and can't be treated like it.  We are looking for that miracle, it must be right around the corner.

Some of you may have heard I did get my permanent residency!!  So I can stay in Australia as long as I want or need to, and I had already decided where else would you want to live except in the Great Southland of the HOLY SPIRIT.  A Portuguese navigator sailing for Spain discovered the Pacific islands in the very early 1600's and called them the Great Southland of the HOLY SPIRIT which included Australia, New Zealand and the other South Pacific islands.  Sounds to me like he claimed the land for GOD.  America says, In GOD We Trust and Australia says, in the HOLY SPIRIT we live! 

The LORD's provision still amazes me, my son Robert  was here in September ( his employer sent him for work and the LORD sent him for me! at least that is the way I see it} and my sister Janis was here for 10 days and went home last Thursday), she is totally amazing, we were talking and she had some time off so I  just said she could come see me and she sent me an email and said how about next week.  the LORD always knows what you need and the time you need it!! 

John and I have also had visitors from Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Malaysia, Singapore, the LORD certainly does know right where we are and we are so blessed to call so many friends and family, not only for the visits, the support, the notes of encouragement and the prayers sometimes I am so overwhelmed with thankfulness, for I can look and see what the LORD has done and what HE is continuing to do in our lives and the lives of those around us.  Don't ever forget how much HE loves you and me and that HE never, never forgets HIS promises!!

Praise and Prayer

Dear Prayer Partners,

GOD is so good and merciful to us.  John is doing much better that the doctors expected, so much better that they are planning to move him to an aged care facility as soon as possible, we are now looking for one that would be closer to where we live and suitable for him and his needs.  Thank you so much for your prayers and we are continuing to pray for a miracle, Nothing is impossible for OUR GOD!!!  We are HIS children and HE is our FATHER and for sure HE loves us!!

Please continue to pray for wisdom and favour with the aged care people and the facility.

A few weeks ago they  moved John to a different ward which is in the old Repat Hospital about 2K from the Austin Hospital where he was.  It seems like it was built in the 1940's  very old not very updated so it is a pretty depressing place for all.

John continues to receive visitors and pray for some of them and even a few words of prophecy, his spirit is alive and well for sure.  He does get tired but he really enjoys seeing long time friends.

PS please be praying for the patients and the nurses where we are and that we would be and say what the LORD would have us to be and say.  I decided we are not there by accident the LORD knows right where we are and the people need HIM and we should be praying and speaking HIS life into this place and the people.  So please be praying for us to do and say the right thing.

Several of you have written and asked for an update on John, right now we need your prayers.   The doctors are not giving him much time at all,  please be praying for the John and the family, the family here and in the US.

Prayer Needs

​Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers, love and notes of encouragement.  I have realized that I miss some of the notes, please forgive me. I don't know what happens but I will be looking much later and there they are, cyberspace I guess!

John is having an MRI Tuesday afternoon please be praying for a good report. 

 We are facing challenges also be praying for strength to stand  and not get distracted by all that is happening, knowing that the LORD has this and we trust HIM and we know HE loves us.

Was so encouraged by the WORD that I read this morning and want it to encourage all of you that the LORD has given you something to say, just say it!

Is. 50:4 The LORD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.  HE awakens me morning by morning, HE awakes my ear to hear as the learned.

May the LORD continue to bless you and encourage you and use you in HIS Kingdom.

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for you continuing prayers, we are thankful for you and your prayers.

The LORD has really encouraged us these last few weeks, one morning I asked HIM for something encouraging that day and we had a doctors appointment, as we were finishing what seemed like a routine appointment, the doctor asked John to sign something (John hasn't just signed anything in months and if he did it took a lot of effort and wasn't anywhere close to his normal signature) John took the pen said where and signed it, just like he had always done before all of this!!

How very encouraged I was, the LORD answered my prayer.  I know it is a small thing but to me the LORD always know just what we need to help us, to build our faith to hold onto HIS promise, HE has this.

We have had a few bumps in the road but we have also seen the LORD's hand uphold us through it all. 

About 2 weeks ago John had a pain in his calf that just wouldn't stop and it also became swollen, after an ultrasound and a cat scan they discovered he has a large blood clot in his calf and blood clots in his lungs so he is on injections to thin his blood and dissolve the clots. The injections he dislikes receiving and I dislike giving him.  At this time we are not sure for how long he will have to have them so please be praying that the clots have dissolved and we can stop them.

In the morning Thursday June 11, he is having a procedure, surgery, as an out patient, please be praying for all to go well and quickly.  He is very pleased no injection tonight or in the morning and so am I!

We were blessed Monday and Tuesday, Pastor Greg Jones from Burnie, Tasmania came for a visit, was very short but we were very blessed and encouraged by his visit and prayers.

The doctors have stopped the chemo for a few weeks, may start back on Monday June 15 but they are waiting to see how he is before they say for sure.

  We were trying to start walking again, he just hadn't felt like it and with his eyesight being a problem he was discouraged somewhat, and then the blood clots, but after seeing he doctor who really encouraged him that it would be good for him I am sure we will start taking walks again.  Pray he will see the benefits and not the obstacles.

May the LORD bless you and keep you and make HIS face shine upon you.

Prayer

​Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you so much for your prayers, emails, support, and most of all, your love.

 

Thank you again for your continued prayers, as we wait upon the LORD.  HE is faithful.

John has been taken off the clinical trail he was on and may be starting another, they are checking to see if he qualifies. The reason he was taken off the one he was on is because in the last 6 weeks or so he has lost his vision in almost all of his right eye and some of his left eye.  Please be praying for us to hear the direction of the LORD, we do know that HE is and has everything we need and the doctors to have wisdom and understanding.

The LORD continues to use John in the prophetic, we must never forget to build ourselves up in the Spirit, the flesh maybe weak but the Spirit is strong.

John's son Aaron is flying in from Olympia, Washington on Saturday.  All the family here is looking forward to his visit, we only wish Carla and the children could have come also!!  Please pray for him to be refreshed even on the flight over and for the family while he is away, that the LORD would take care of every need while Aaron is here.

We are so thankful, we are in the hands of the LORD and HE truly knows everything we need. 

Brings to mind the scripture I have heard John preach,

 Romans 8:28 that starts with: And we know (because of who we know and trust in) that all things work together for good to those who love GOD, to those who are the called according to HIS purpose.

You cannot stop HIS purpose in you just because  are sick, you are weak, you are poor, you are rich, you are too busy, you are on vacation (holiday) etc. the GOD purpose for you is still in you, still waiting for you.  We don't fit HIM into our lives where it is convenient HE is our life and we must be about our FATHER's business.
